Lowcountry OB/GYN has certified nurse midwives (RN’s) who have continued their education and specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. Midwives provide a full scope of women’s health care, including gynecology for low-risk women of all ages and wellness management including, diet, exercise and healthy lifestyle counseling.

Barbara Stone, CNM

Midwives are specialists in normal pregnancy, birth and in the care of the newborn. Many of our patients write a "birthplan" to communicate their specific wants for labor and delivery. Midwives offer family centered pregnancy care and are committed to offering personalized care and support to our patients in whatever their individual needs might be.
We work closely with our physicians, and if our patients need care that would be best provided by a physician, then we add their care to ours.
